Videographer

DESCRIBE AN AVERAGE WORKING DAY FOR YOU AT RED FERN

No two days at work for me are the same, I can be editing an animated video for one client on Monday and shooting video in the middle of a field on Tuesday. There’s a lot of editing for me to do and I do spend a lot of time at my computer but the end result is always worth it.

HOW DOES THE RED FERN WORKING ENVIRONMENT DIFFER TO THE OTHER ENVIRONMENTS YOU’VE WORKED IN?

Working at Red-Fern means I’m never working alone on a project. There are a lot of us in the office and we bounce ideas off each other, give each other feedback and strive to produce the best work we can. Teamwork makes the dream work!

HOW DID YOU END UP IN DIGITAL MARKETING?

Before Red-Fern Media I was a freelance videographer working with different clients and as time progressed I found myself producing more and more digital marketing content. I decided to focus on this and now I’m creating content for multiple clients across the UK.

WHICH CLIENTS ARE YOU MOST EXCITED TO BE WORKING WITH?

The client I’d really like to work with is Reet Good, imagine going to work and spending the entire day with dogs! Running around capturing amazing video of them living their best life. This is what inspires me to keep doing what I’m doing.

WHICH TOOLS DO YOU USE DAY TO DAY, OUT OF INTEREST?

The tools I use on a daily are all in the Adobe Creative Suite. Primarily using Premiere Pro for editing video and sound and After Effects for creating motion graphics. If I’m editing stills I’ll use Lightroom for the light and colour corrections and Photoshop to touch up and remove things from the image.

ARE THERE ANY TV SERIES OR FILMS THAT YOU RECOMMEND AT ANY CHANCE THAT YOU GET?

I don’t watch a lot of TV or films (I’m shocked too) but I did enjoy Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad! My favorite movie has to be Thelma and Louise. I’ve always wanted to do an American road trip through Monument Valley, but I don’t fancy driving into the Grand Canyon.

WHERE’S YOUR FAVORITE NIGHT OUT SPOT?

Being a Geordie lad my ideal night out would be back in Newcastle. I recommend starting at ‘The Stack’ which is an entertainment container village in the middle of the city centre. There’s live music, multiple bars and restaurants and plenty of craft ciders to devour.

ANY ALBUMS OR SONGS ON REPEAT AT THE MOMENT?

My music taste is not only confusing to me but everyone else too. One minute I’ve got Guns’N’Roses blasting and the next I have George Ezra and a bit of Ariana Grande. But I really like Caravan Palace, listen to ‘Miracle’ and ‘Lone Digger’.
