Champ Funerals are changing perceptions about death. Death is unavoidable, yet when it happens we want to deal with it as quickly as possible.

Their message is ‘death is an experience’. They commissioned us to help them alter perceptions with a unique website and supporting business analysis and marketing strategy.

Champ Funerals project needed to address a full website redesign and digital marketing strategy that takes a strategic approach to the user journey, content and calls-to-actions on every single page of the website, for increased website visitors and lead generation.

Champ Funerals came to us with an outdated website that required a full rebrand in order to match the modern, contemporary style they wanted to develop.

After conducting a full insights session with Champ, we determined that the whole user experience of the site also needed to be reimagined. It had to be streamlined and seamless in order to refocus and improve user experience.

Another priority was to create a website that was responsive, as the previous website wasn’t built for both desktop and mobile devices.

The design was to portray a high quality service with core value of empathy, which projects Champ Funerals as the leading funeral director within their area.

The Inbound Marketing Blueprint

Before starting our partnership for growth, it was important to learn more about Champ Funerals as a business. We needed to delve deeper into Carl and Lianna as business owners, but also as people. What made them different from their competitors? Once we found that out, we knew where to focus our attention.

To do this, we conducted a comprehensive business analysis, which consisted of three separate meetings:

  1. SWOT analysis (to determine strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats for the business)
  2. Gap Analysis (to determine where their processes might need updating to increase efficiency)
  3. Buyer Persona Analysis (to profile Champ Funerals ideal customers and segment them into specific groups)

This initial business development activity allowed us to start our partnership on the right foot and gave clarity to both parties on what the first year's goals and objectives would be.

Social Media & The Content Strategy

Creating content was identified as an opportunity — how many funeral directors post thoughtful, engaging content about topics related to funeral care and grief support?

Champ wanted to be thought leaders and change perceptions of their industry — and we wanted to give them a voice.

We did that by creating a 12-month content strategy, which focused on areas of grief management, funeral planning, funeral regulations and bereavement.

We used our SEO tools to research relevant keywords we knew Champ could rank for, and attached them to the relevant content piece.

A year after the website launch, they’ve seen a 258% increase in organic traffic and a 178% increase in organic keywords.
