A warm welcome to our new Specialist UI/UX Designer, Sam!

We’re expanding the team rapidly - with another new month, welcomes another new hire at Red-Fern. So, we’d like to introduce you to our new Specialist UI/UX Designer, Sam! As you may know, since winning Marketing Agency of the Year, it’s been all systems go at Red-Fern. And, we’re not slowing down anytime soon.

We’re thrilled to have Sam on board with us at Red-Fern. She’ll increase our creative capacity and continue to drive our user experience and user interface (UI/UX) design capabilities forward. Sam brings unrivalled creativity and enthusiasm to the team - it’s present in everything she does. We can’t wait to see how Sam will make her stamp on the Red-Fern brand and push us into creating 3D interactive website experiences and designing complex user interfaces.

With the technological advancements and a growing digital world, everybody wants to experience the best technology, at rapid speeds, without spending too much money or time searching for what they need. Consumers can be impatient. For optimal consumer experience and satisfaction, UI and UX design are critical.

UI/UX design are both used interchangeably and they are a crucial skill set for a marketing agency. UX is essential for ensuring the user has a seamless experience through the product or service. The UI focuses on the specifics, visual style, guidelines, structure and more. Without it, you’ll have a poor brand image, frustrated consumers (if you even manage to obtain them) and a lacklustre user experience.

So, that’s exactly why we’ve expanded our team and hired the wonderful, Sam. She’ll give attention to both the details and the bigger picture. Sam will work on the execution, strategy and long term vision of multiple projects with our digital partners. BUT, although that’s exciting, what does she do away from the Red-Fern HQ? Any guesses? Of course, it’s something creative.

Sam red fern new starter

When Sam isn’t working on projects for our digital partners, she’s busy working on her interior design magic (she’s a pro at this, see picture proof above). During the 2020 lockdown, Sam and her partner bought a 200-year-old cottage to renovate. When she’s not covered in paint, she loves a good rummage around a charity shop or bric-a-brac fair. Anything to renovate or repurpose. We love to hear it!

Sam has always had a keen interest in design. She studied Graphic Design at college and university. Soon after her studies, she was thrown in at the deep end of a fast-moving creative agency. After experiencing the realms of an agency, she went freelance for a total of 10 years - wowzers.

For the past 2 years, like many of us, Sam has been working from home. But now, she’s excited to be joining us at our Red-Fern office, communicating with real people and real humans 😉. Sam has already made a positive impact on the team and she can’t wait to make her mark on our digital partners.

Sam loves using Adobe Illustrator and Figma. She’s also partial to a little Google searching, looking for inspiration or watching tutorials, in Sam’s words “every day's a school day!” - we love this attitude and we couldn’t agree more😎.

When Sam isn’t busy with her two children, she’ll have a getaway for the night. One of her recommendations for a weekend away is Holmes Mill in Clitheroe. The hotel is lovely, and the bar and food was fantastic - we’ll take your word for it! As well as this, she recommends The Mad Hunter at St Michael’s - drool-worthy food is always a win for us lot at Red-Fern.

We need to keep a close eye on Sam👀… She loves police dramas, ‘The Bay’, ‘Dexter’ and ‘Prodigal Son’. But it’s not all that serious, she also loves watching ‘Call the Midwife’ and ‘Masked Singer’😉.

At Red-Fern, we’re always keen to know what people are listening to - we love a good collaborative playlist! 🕺Sam enjoys listening to old school Wham and Madonna, what a brilliant choice.

We hope you’ve loved getting to know Sam and for more updates regarding agency life and the work we’ve created with our digital partners, get following us on social media! We’re true social butterflies and thrive off keeping everyone up to date with our adventures.

With Sam’s arrival, it does mean that our capabilities will expand, and we’ll be broadening our skill sets to explore new technologies. This is fantastic news for our digital partners as we continue to help them be leaders in their respective fields. And with the addition of Sam, there’s no stopping us.
