We're further investing into apprenticeships and long-term development

As you’ll know from our previous posts, we’re currently in the midst of a fruitful period of growth. We’re constantly on the lookout for new talent to join our close-knit team and we’ve decided to add a new string to our recruitment bow. We’re committed to investing in the new generation of professionals by creating apprenticeship opportunities.

For the business to succeed, our team members must be constantly developing. This is something that we massively believe in and prioritise - if we’re not evolving as individuals, the team will be the one that suffers in the long-run. So, the addition of apprenticeships is a breath of fresh air and another focused area of development within.

This post will look further into our decision to invest in apprenticeships, what benefits we believe these positions will bring to our team and who we’ve brought on board. Plus, we’ll look at how all of this ties together so that we can continue to add value to our digital partners and long-term partnerships.

We’ll cover:

Our decision to invest in apprenticeships

Personal development has always been at the centre of our core values, which made our decision to invest in apprenticeships an easy one. Apprenticeships allow us to focus on nurturing the latest crop of young talent into professionals - and we’re super excited to see what they can bring to the team.

The development journey and progression that an apprentice takes is unrivalled in any other scheme. This is something that excites us to be a part of and will also benefit the business in the long-term. Their eagerness to expand their knowledge and develop a broad-ranged skill set will be beneficial for both parties.

If our team members are developing, the business is bound to naturally benefit from this. Whereas, if our progression starts to stagnate then our efforts may become tired, outdated and performance may drop off. Of course, we don’t want this to happen - which is why we always prioritise training and development amongst our team.

If you’re not constantly learning new things, life can be a little boring, can’t it? Therefore, picking up segments of knowledge where we can and deepening our knowledge is an area of importance for team satisfaction. Apprenticeships are an exciting opportunity to lay down the foundations of a successful career.

The main benefits apprenticeships can bring to the business

Eagerness to learn

Apprentices may enter a role with little to no experience or knowledge of the position. Therefore, they’re hungry to learn and develop to thrive in their role. They’re pursuing an area that is their passion and their motivation levels will be supercharged - this will bode well for the business as productivity levels will naturally ramp up with this.

An eagerness to constantly learn is a great way in which we can add value to our partners. Of course, our team regularly does this themselves - however, it’s another mind of fresh ideas and innovation to bring to the table. So, don’t be surprised when the latest amazing idea comes from  a fresh mindset within the team.

Extra support

Of course, for our apprentices to develop as well as they can do, we’re committed to providing them with the whole experience. What we mean by that is we won’t expect them to specialise in one area and just stay in that lane - we’ll encourage them to explore all areas of their field so that they can maximise their individual development and potential.

While that's beneficial for them personally, it also helps the team. It’s an extra pair of hands that we can call upon to carry out a skilled job when we need. If capacity is low one week, they can lend themselves to a different area to help shift any work stacked up. Therefore, we can add value to our brand and always ensure our partners’ deadlines are easily met.

Contribute to team culture

As apprentices join our ranks, they’re a big part of the Red-Fern team - as are any new team members. Therefore, they must be the right fit culturally! Otherwise, things won’t work out for both parties. Naturally, if you don’t like where you work, you’re not going to get the most out of your apprenticeship, right? Well, we’re happy to say that won’t be the case at Red-Fern.

Culture is massive to us - you have to love where you work and who you work with to achieve the best possible results - FACT. At Red-Fern, we’re constantly working on our culture and how it’s evolving. We have a great team with us in which every member is valued. Our apprentices are no different and contribute to this massively.

Who’ve we recruited? And why?

Since the turn of the year, we’ve recruited our first-ever Digital Marketing Apprentice, Aaliah!  She joins us to specialise in Paid Media and is working closely with our Paid Media Manager, David. However, she’s going to be exploring all marketing channels to maximise her personal development.

But why Paid Media? Well, it’s a key area of each of our digital partners’ marketing retainers. And as we’re continuing to grow and welcome on new accounts, it’s time to invest in the team so that we can make sure we’re consistently providing the top-quality service that our partners have become so accustomed to.

Paid Media is constantly evolving, especially with the many different Google algorithm changes and audience behaviour. It’s a great area for Aaliah to sink her teeth into and she’s surrounded by a great team who can help her develop. We’re excited to see how she grows into the role and makes it her own in the coming few months.
