Challenge

Technical excellence is what makes Apeks® stand out from other diving brands and with a history dating back to the 1970s they have always been a trusted name in the industry, serving divers, explorers and adventurers who push their personal boundaries in the most demanding dive environments.

Apeks® are also dedicated to designing industry-leading dive equipment with cutting-edge sustainability credentials, which is where Red-Fern and Apeks® shared a vision for innovation when it came to launching a groundbreaking breathing regulator called ‘Ocea’ at the Paris dive show — meaning that our challenge was to concept, visualise and implement a cohesive creative digital experience that immersed users into exploring the credentials of the product.

Approach

Having worked with Apeks® on multiple projects and being part of such a prestigious product launch, our team truly wanted to align some of the latest technology and creativity, aligning the Apeks® brand ethos for innovation.

Our approach was to elevate the existing heritage and industry trust, bringing Ocea to life in a clear and simple augmented reality experience, promoting the products environmental and technical credentials, making sure the messaging resonated with the diving community and influencers.

A truly game-changing regulator that removes five times its own weight in plastic from the environment.

The Ocea is the first of its kind – an environmentally-conscious regulator made from recycled materials and bio-plastics, manufactured in a solar-powered facility. Based on the XL4+, every single material and process was reconsidered to create the most eco-sensitive scuba diving regulator in the world.

Augmented reality experience, elevating the user experience and product education.

A digital asset that details all the core product features through your smartphone.

The augmented reality experience needs no special app and can be accessed through scanning a QR code positioned on any point of sale.

This type of experience is proven in positioning manufacturers at the forefront of technology and customer experience.

The augmented reality experience is created as an extension of existing digital assets, making sure that every digital touch point has the intention of educating the user, whilst considering the end goal of conversion.
