Overview

Challenge

Godiva, part of IDEX Fire & Safety, is the world’s leading specialist emergency services equipment provider, serving the firefighting community worldwide for over 85 years. Godiva is a specialists provider, developing and innovating new technology, whilst retaining trust and heritage with existing and trusted products.

SAMFlows is the latest product to be added into the IDEX and Godiva family.
Sitting within a group of brands owned by IDEX, SAMFlows is an integrated water-flow control system that manages a vehicle’s pump, tank, intakes and discharges, removing the need for a complex fire engine pump panel. Instead, all pump controls can be completed effectively on a 10″ intuitive touch-screen display.

The project was to develop the digital assets and strategy required to launch this innovative and ground breaking product to a global audience at INTERSCHUTZ in Germany, the world’s leading trade fair for fire and civil protection, rescue and safety industries.

Approach

To begin the project, we carried out a series of virtual discovery calls with the global Godiva team, giving us an overview of the business, how they were established, what the product is, why it’s needed, and what problem they were solving.

During the initial discovery, we realised that audience profiling and buyer persona development was critical to this project, allowing us to understand how the terminology, language, tone of voice, locations and countries operated.

To collate this information, we interviewed the global Godiva sales team to understand their sales process, the challenges they faced, the content they needed to aid the sales process – and more. We also watched live virtual product demonstrations in Germany, to understand the product interface in-depth.

 
 

A great strategy requires laser focused direction.

All of the information gathered from the discovery phase allowed us to create an in-depth buyer persona, audience profiling, and brand discovery document, giving all the project stakeholders the ability to deeply analyse the target audience and examine the Godiva and IDEX products.

This document is essential for all project stakeholders to align and visualise the digital strategy, marketing and technology road ahead.

The discovery document was passed onto the IDEX Corporation principles and championed as one of the most detailed strategy documents to ever cross their desk. Red-Fern are now their chosen global digital agency.

Product education through visually captivating content.

To boost customer engagement and product knowledge, we scripted, directed, edited and produced a versatile video for use across all digital channels.

Combining stunning visuals, dynamic animations, and clear narratives to quickly capture attention. The content offered an immersive experience, bridging the gap between initial curiosity and deeper product understanding.

 
 

Immersive technologies.

A key outcome for the project was to engage with the end-users, giving them the ability to understand how the product created efficiencies and helped to save lives.

We achieved this by pushing the boundaries with an augmented reality experience, allowing the end-user to use their smart phone and launch the interactive experience, demonstrating how firefighters can be fighting the fire in less than five minutes once on the scene.
