The Brief

As on of the top 100 UK manufacturing companies, What More UK are a Lancashire-based manufacturer and distributor of plastic housewares, gardening and storage products, sold under the trusted and value-for-money Wham® brands.

The internal marketing team had identified that their existing website had served its purpose, was in need of a full redesign, technology overhaul and strategic plan to take their online growth goals forward.

What More's internal systems would need to be fully linked to the website, allowing for live stock and product updates, which in turn would allow trade customers to login in and place orders on over 1,500 Wham® products.

The site would need to have full content management for the marketing team to manage the content and marketing efforts across all social media channels.

Red-Fern Media worked alongside the internal marketing and executive teams, creating a full digital strategy which was presented to the board, detailing analytical data and putting the business case forward for the investment into the new website and systems.

We were delighted when the project was given the approval and Red-Fern Media were chosen as the digital partner to develop a long term strategy, modern design and technology integrations to help the What More team achieve their marketing and revenue goals.

What More UK

The Website

The design, development and strategy teams at Red-Fern Media took a strategic approach with the delivery of the project, developing full user journeys and site maps before any design or coding had even started.

Briefed by What More's marketing team our designers researched and developed several prototypes which were then developed into a stunning, clean, modern and user friendly website, addressing all the projects objectives.

Whilst the design and user journey's were taking shape, Red-Fern Media's technical team worked along side What More's technical and administrative team to develop the integrations that would allow for over 1,500 products to be automatically synced with the website from their Sage200 system. With live product updates and a trade ordering system that sends data back to their internal systems, the ordering process has been totally redeveloped to give a smoother ordering and user journey.

The final site was launched in two phases, phase one allowing for specific marketing activities to be undertaken before the Spring Fair trade show and phase two to launch the trade ordering system.

The Future

With the new website in place, Red-Fern Media will be working closely with the marketing and executive teams at What More to make sure the website is achieving the projects goals.

With marketing reviews scheduled, strategic plans will be developed and monitored to make sure the investment into a new website will not only increase the brand exposure of the Wham® brands, but will exceed the ROI goals of the project.
